Helen & Dan’s Pre-Wedding Shoot at Wychwood Park De Vere Venue near Crewe

October 31st, 2008 | Category: Pre-Wedding Portraits

We met Helen and Dan at their wedding venue, Wychwood Park, for their pre-wedding shoot as it gave us chance to check out the location as well as having somewhere to sit and enjoy a coffee while going through the paperwork! They are getting married in November but have picked an ideal venue for a winter wedding as the modern, stylish interior of the hotel means the photo opportunities inside are just as good, if not better, than outside. We made the most of some this for the pre-wedding shoot and the rain kept us indoors.

Rachael & Jim’s Wedding at Friars Court in Clanfield, Oxon

October 30th, 2008 | Category: Weddings

Rachael and Jim were married at Friars Court in Clanfield, Oxfordshire, on a glorious Indian summer’s day in September. Weddings are arranged at Friars Court by Silver Pear Weddings – www.silverpearweddings.co.uk  The venue is a privately owned house built of pale Cotswold stone and has stood on its moated site for over 300 years.

Rachael and Jim headed off on safari to Africa for their honeymoon which is why their confetti had an animal theme. Rachael made all the confetti by using shaped cutters to cut all the animals out of paper.

There are nine areas licenced for weddings at Friars Court, 3 of which are outside, including the Rose Arbour where Rachael and Jim were married. Rachael and Jim just had to make sure they were standing under the arbour as they exchanged their vows while their guests looked on from the gardens.

We know of a few venues in the UK that afford an ‘almost’ outdoors wedding so feel free to get in touch with us if you want more information.

Rather than a cake, Rachael and Jim had a tower of desserts. They took the American approach of feeding each other some of the Eton Mess!

Jayne & Chris’ Wedding at St. Peter’s Church and The Peacock Inn, Redmile

October 23rd, 2008 | Category: Weddings

Jayne and Chris’ wedding was our most local of the year taking place in Redmile, only a couple of villages away from our home in Bingham. Their wedding day had a really relaxed, informal feel that was helped by the fact that everything literally happened on their doorstep. Jayne and Chris live on the Main Street through Redmile so Chris got ready at home while Jayne was just down the road at The Peacock Inn. It was then just a brief stroll for both of them to St. Peter’s Church which is also just off the Main Street in Redmile.

Chris’ bestman knows Jimmy Choo so Jayne was able to get this gorgeous pair of couture Jimmy Choo’s made for her.

‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in your shoe’. Well Jayne avoided the uncomfort of a sixpence in her shoe by having it sewn into her wedding dress along with something blue.

Jayne had a very unusual wedding bouquet, in fact, rather than a bouquet it was more like a garland of orchids and beads:

Jayne and Chris’ table name displays were really different – all the tables were named after precious stones but the unusual element was that the names were displayed in china teapots. Every table had a teapot of a different design; Jayne collected in preparation for her wedding day.

Fun was had by all on the dancefloor in the evening with the music being provided by an old fashioned jukebox. However, the highlight of the night had to be Chris’ rendition of YMCA – we understand it was the sequel to the stag do performance!

Susie & Dan’s Wedding at Norwood Park near Southwell

October 18th, 2008 | Category: Weddings

Susie and Dan were married at Norwood Park, a striking Georgian country house venue near Southwell – www.norwoodpark.co.uk   They had a civil marriage ceremony immediately followed by a Jewish blessing – this was actually the first Jewish Blessing we have photographed and it was great to chat to the guests and find out more about the meaning of the different rituals.

Susie and Dan had a fully choreographed first dance which they pulled off to perfection.

The men in Dan’s family have a tradition of singing a song, written by them, at special events and they were certainly not going to disappoint on this occasion!

The celebrations continued with lots of fun and dancing and even a fireworks display to help the evening go with a bang.
